The first tournament game for the seventh graders ended in a victory. Everyone was having fun. Before the game, almost everyone was nervous yet excited to play. Some of us went from being scared, to ending up making our first basket ever. It looked like training, practicing hard, and pushing ourselves really paid off.
The first quarter started with a splash. Everyone just felt it. We were all in the zone. We started the game off with Brendan drawing fouls and making shots every which way. Then Ace made his first shot ever. It was clear that we were feeling a little more confident after the quarter ended with us leading 11-0.
Now it was the twins’ turns. Both taking turns making shots bringing us to a 23-0 lead at the half. By then, we were feeling a lot more confident. After each and everyone of us made a shot, we felt like we were ready for the next game, and this time even more confident. We ended up winning the game 39-2 and look forward to our next game against St. Cecilia on Wednesday.
